
Care for the Carer System (C4C)

Project Overview
The Care for the Carer (C4C) system is a mobile-based digital health platform developed by mHealth Kenya in 2015 under a CDC-PEPFAR grant. It is designed to support healthcare workers (HCWs) by providing a secure and efficient way to report occupational exposures, receive treatment adherence reminders, and access occupational health tips and resources.
Project Scope
The mobile technology system will enable HCWs to register into the platform, report exposures and receive adherence messaging. The platform will provide a monitoring process that will follow the HCW until they complete the post exposure prophylaxes and testing up to the sixth month unless they opt out of the platform. - Transmitted over 1.7 million Viral Load test results to clinicians
- Delivered 165,146 Early Infant Diagnosis results to facilities
- Ensured all results delivered within 24-hour timeframe
- Implemented password-protected security for confidential data
- Created comprehensive result tracking and reporting capabilities
